Hello I am 33 years old and i am on the hcg diet, i have a severe sore throat and i just think it is from detoxing. I had fevers and chills for one day adn they broke this moring and now they are back. Could this all be just detoxing or should i get a antibodic. I looked and there is no white spots.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Fever and chills can occur in any type of infection. It may not indicate a bacterial infection but can also be present in viral infection (common cold or flu).

It is likely that you have a viral cold since these are more common than bacterial.
Treatment is mainly symptomatic eg throat sprays/gargles or lozenges eg chloroseptic, diflam or bethadine, paracetamol (help with fever and discomfort) and any cough and cold over the counter medication.

I hope this helps
