Does Effient Usage Cause Pins And Needles Feeling In Head?

I started taking effient around November 6, 2013. Around the first of December, I have been experiencing a kind of halo effect around my brain that doesn t seem to go away. It s a gnawing pins and needles feeling from the time I wake up until I go to bed. Please advise if this is common or not?

Hello,

Effient (Prasugrel ) can cause a headache as CNS side effect but halo effect around the brain is unusual and not heard of with Prasugrel.

There is another anti-platelet drug of similar efficacy in that group of thienopyridine e.g Clopidogrel.

In case of side effect is unbearable, you can switch to another antiplatelet drug after consultation with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
