Does Elevated ESR Level Take Long To Return To Normal While Recovering From A Viral Infection?

Hi , about 6 weeks ago I was not very well a virus infection I think my esr was 37 and my cpr was raised too I think 27. 2 weeks later had a retest cpr back to normal but esr only down to 33. Had blood test to day just to check esr again , I feel ok now , I am worried if this is still high ? Does it take longer for esr to return to normal? Many thanks, XXXX

I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

Sometime viral infection particularly upper respiratory tract infection takes a time to recover. ESR is usually elevated in inflammation or infection. Once your inflammation will recover completely, your esr will return to normal. No need to repeat it now if Symptomatic improvement present.
