Does Exposure To Sunlight While On Clonazepam Cause Any Side Effects?
I am needing to know if Clonazepam causes problems with being in direct sunlight? I ve been on it for well over a year; born and raised in TX, never EVER bothered by the Sun or heat in my life until these last two Summers. The Sun feels oppressive; beats on my bare arms/shoulders, pushes on me, makes me feel as though I might pass out. I can t find this in any list of side-effects of Clonazepam online, so I thought I d try this website. I take it, by the way, for Atonic Epilepsy, six mgs a day, at 2mg TID. Thank you.
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
What you are describing it is not a side effect of Clonazepam. All these symptoms might be a sign of dehydration or a sensitivity from the sunlight that you might have developed over the years, just a thought. Drink plenty of fluids on days when it is hot, use sunglasses, and sun cream. If not better or worse, consider seeing a local doctor who can examine you and do further testing to understand what is going on.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Klarida Papaqako
