Hello
Advent forte is amoxicilli+clavulanic acid and doses are adjusted based on amoxicillin ,in a child weighing less than 40 kg 20-40 mg /kg body weight in divided doses every 8 hourly , while other prefer 12 hourly .
Since amoxiccillin dose is 400 mg + 57 mg is clavulanic acid .
In that sense if you give him 400 mg ,this is not an over dose .
As far as concerned about any problem in future, I want to tell you that due to homeostasis mechanism the doses will adjust in body and extra antibiotics will pass into urine .
So without any hesitation , you can give this drug to your son , according to advised doses.
Good luck.
