Does Frequent Menstruation Cause Early Menopause In The Future?

I am 19 years old and get my period every 21 days. A friend said that I will loose it early because I get it so often. I do not drink, take drugs and I am not on any medication. Just wondering if my clock is ticking faster than anyone else. Thank you

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. Any woman, during her reproductive life, does not prepare fresh follicles. The existing follicles mature in course of time and lead to menstrual cycles. It is true to some extent that frequent ovulation could mean frequent maturation of follicles leading to faster depletion. Yet, this does not lead to very early menopause as there are enough follicles to run for a long time. It is good that you do not have any unwanted addictions and do continue the same. Wish you good health.
