Does Gastroparesis Cause Pain In The Mid Breastbone Area?

My daughter has gastroparesis and has been experiencing pain in the mid breastbone area for 3 months along with vomiting. Lost 15 lbs. Endoscopy shows a small ulcer which we were told would heal with omerprazole. Is the pain located in the mid breastbone area caused by gastroparesis and if so why?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your daughter suffering from gastroparesis, pain in mid breastbone area along with vomiting for three months. Upper GI Endoscopy showed a small ulcer, which you were told would heal with Omeprazole. She has lost 15 lbs and wants to know whether gastroparesis can cause the present problem.
As per the history you have provided, your daughter looks to be suffering from GERD in addition to the problems that she has already been diagnosed with.
Gastroparesis can be contributory factor.
I would think about other additional problems like diabetes as the usual cause of gastroparesis.
I would also advise her the following:
To get treated properly with prokinetic like domperidone as vomiting and reflux must be stopped.
Antacid whenever she is on empty stomach.
Small frequent meals.
Follow-up upper GI Endoscopy.
