Does Hair Loss, Depression, Fatigue And Dry Skin Suggest Thyroid Problem?
All through my childhood & early teens I had very thick hair. I m 27 now & have went through hair loss over the years. I had an abortion at 15; I understand that could imbalance hormones & thyroid. Ive been to dermatologists all that was suggested was rogain. Now more than ever I m experiencing hair loss. I recently had blood work to test thyroid; results have not come back yet. The more I read about thyroid dysfunction & symptoms the more I feel this could be my undiagnosed problem. I have moodiness/anxiety/depression, constipation, fatigue, difficulty concentrating at times, dry skin etc. Does this sound like a thyroid issue? If on medication could my hair grow back in?
Hello, Thank you for asking on HCM! I have read your concerns and I would give you some further information regarding to your problems. The symptoms and signs you described (Fatigue, constipation, dry skin, concentration difficulty ect.) do correlate with an under function of the thyroid gland, but it must be confirmed with hormonal examinations such as : -TSH,FT4 and FT3. If it results to be a thyroid problem I would suggest you not to worry because in a couple of months of treatment every thing will come back to normality. Hope the information is helpful.
