Does Inserting Yogurt Into Vagina Cure Malodorous Vaginal Discharge?
I m 15 and I have been having a weird odour coming from my vagina and some discharge, it is not painful and it does not burn when I urinate. It is not a yeast infection nor is it a water infection so I have come to the conclusion that it must be Bacterial Vaginosis. I am also not sexually active. I have taken medication that was prescribed by my doctor but it never worked so I decided to do some research. I found that inserting plain yogurt into your vagina and eating yogurt regularly helped cure it. Is this true?
Hello, thanks for sharing your health concern with us. I have gone through your query and would like to offer some suggestions. 1. Though you may not have all the symptoms, you still have to get evaluated completely to ensure there is no recurrence after complete treatment. 2. Maintenance of proper genital hygiene is essential. Avoid using tampons and go for sanitary napkins instead. Do not douche or use strong soap solutions to clean the genital region. Use mild antiseptic solutions. 3. Do not insert yogurt into the vagina. You can eat a good amount as it is healthy. Take treatment as advised by your doctor. You may have to use prophylaxis to prevent recurrences. Avoid synthetic undergarments and switch to cotton wear to allow proper ventilation. Hope this helps.
