Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor, I have been prescribed Catapress 100 for Menapause symptoms..... finding it hard to stay asleep as I am forever having hot flushes. Catapress 100 has helped me but as a result I have gained 7 kilos in the past year. I am 54 years old. I do weight training with a personal trainer 3-4 times per week, I eat moderately, my eating habit has not changed. I am at a loss as why this has happened. Everyone keeps telling me to change my diet and do more cardio, I understand I am not 44 years old but I have excersised more now than ever. Do you think that this maybe the result of taking Catapress 100. I also take Crestor 20mg for cholesterol which I have for the past 4 years Regards,
welcome to hcm, I really appreciate your concern, no catapres( clonidine) do not cause weight gain, not even crestor( rosuvastatin) Catapres a medicine usually prescribed for patients with high diastolic BP. and crestor usually prescribed for patients having high cholesterol. please feel free to ask any further queries. Thanks. regards.
