Hallow Dear,
Intercourse on day 5 (last day) of the menstrual bleeding phase does not require any protection of
Plan B. On that day, egg is not present to get fertilized. The egg is released 14 days prior to the next expected menses. Considering life of an egg of 24 hours and that of sperms of 72 hours, a week around the day of ovulation is fertile window. Your intercourse was far away from it.
Plan B pills do have some after effects:
1. The subsequent following menstrual period may get delayed by few days to a week or so.
2. Few days after taking the pill, some bleeding might take place; however, it lasts for few days only.
You have got this withdrawal bleeding of Plan B pills. However, since it is continuous for so many days, it is not only withdrawal bleeding; you seem to have developed
hormonal imbalance resulting into continual break through bleeding.
To control this bleeding, please take some
progesterone pills like
Deviry or so till the bleeding stops. Then discontinue these pills. Within 4-7 days, you will get withdrawal bleeding again which will stop after 4-5 days. Your next menses may be delayed.
And lastly, let me warn you that having an intercourse in the bleeding phase of
menstruation carries a great risk of infection, since blood is a very good medium for the growth of pathological organisms. So please avoid intercourse till you are completely dry of the blood.
I hope this helps you.
