Does Medication For PCO Cause Irregular Menstrual Flow?

Hi.. My period started on 10th of this month... Initially it ws spotting for 5 days followed with heavy flow for d next 5 days n have been bleedin steadily eversince.. Its 28th today... I bleed alongwith severe cramps... Its becomin unbearable... I hav a PCO problem n d doctor prescribed oosure, ebexid glycomet 500 n fol 123.. Dis has neva happened to me before... Ever... N it has worried me quite a bit nw... Is it a side effect of dese meds... Hav discontinued dem since 5th.., pls give viable advice... In dire need of it... ASAP

PCOS ( pcod ) i.e . Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease or Syndrome is very common now a days in young child bearing age group female .
Reason is not known , why so common.
Having these symptoms.
Androgen excess.
Menstrual irregularities , dysfunctional uterine bleeding or amenorrhea ( no bleeding or only spotting ).
Obesity with glucose intolerance.
Alteration of LH/FSH ratio.
Elevated serum testosterone level.
Ultrasound changes in ovaries or ovary .
You are taking ebxid, oosure and metformin( glycomet ) , these are drug of choice for the treatment for PCOS .
Irregular bleeding or heavy bleeding or dysfunctional bleeding are due to PCOS.
This type of bleeding is not the side effects of various medicine .
Cysts are often caused by hormone changes. Using these drugs can some times help regulate hormone levels so that the cysts can be taken care of .
Your gyne will likely want you to come back after you have been on these drugs to see if the cyst is gone.
At that time she will decide future course of action ,so take these drugs as advised your doctor.
