Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Dr, I am a female, 27years old, suffering from pcod. I weighs 55kgs, height - 155cm. I had an ectopic pregnancy in 2010 and my right tube was stitched. My periods are irregular and my last lmp was on october 2nd. 2 weeks after my missed period, ie on november 17th, i took a hcg urine test and it was negative. So I consulted a infertitlity specialist and took meprate(medroxy progesterone acetate tabs) for 5 days(twice a day) from november 24th to 28th. I didn t got my periods yet and yesterday I have taken a hcg urine test and the result is positive. I am worried? will it cause any problem to the foetus. Any problem in taking meprate during pregnancy. I was not aware that I am pregnant.
Meprate is one of the medications that should not be taken during pregnancy. It is harmful to the fetus and I recommend that you contact your OB/GYN immediately and inform them. I am sorry I am in no way trying to upset you regarding this, but I would call your physician about this today. Most importantly and above all else, do NOT take any more of the Meprate.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. David Girardi, Internal Medicine Specialist
