Does Metronidazole Cause Darkening Of The Urine?
hi i had an ice tea colored urine and i went to a urologist, i had a urinalysis but the doctor said it has no blood in it. i don't feel any pain, my urologist said i should drink more which i did. the urine got more cleared... at that time i was taking metronidazole. does that drug caused the darkening of my urine.

Metronidazole have few side effects , I am listing below for your information , these are .
Nausea , numbness tingling /metallic taste , DARK URINE " Blood dyscrasias .
Drug should be used with precaution in patient with blood disorder.
So in my opinion dark color of urine in your case is due to the side effect of metronidazole .
