Does Mould Cause Respiratory Track Infection In Infants?

I believe I have mold in my home, the land lord refused to change out the carpet, there were dogs in the home before I moved in. My 3 year old otherwise healthy began with upper respiratory infections and recently had her tonsils removed due to constant infections. Is it possible the mold caused it to get so far we ve been in the home about 9 months.
