Does Overdose Of Vyvanse Cause Adverse Side Effects?

Hi, my 13 year old, 140lb son took his 30mg dose of vyvanse this morning at 7:30. At 10:30 pm he was getting his pill ready for tomorrow morning and he accidentally took another 30mg. Doses were 15 hours apart. Besides insomnia, what should I be looking for?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Side effects of Vyvanse include:
-dizziness
-dry mouth
-abdominal pain
-rapid heart beat

The maximum daily dose of Vyvanse is 70 mg. I do not think you have to be concerned about your 140 pound son taking 60 mg over the course of a day for just one day.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to help.
