Does Pilonidal Cyst Surgery Involve Anus Hole Suturing?
Is it a common practice to sew a 15 year old boy s, for lack of a better word, butt crack as a treatment for Pilonidal Cyst? My nephew just underwent surgery and when the plastic surgeon showed my sister what he did she did not know what to do! She did not yet tell her son that he no longer has a butt crack.

In the given scenario and history facts,Your nephew- seems to have undergone-Pilonidal Cystectomy by a Plastic Surgeon.
The Butt crack in such cases-needs to be opened up,at the base of Which Pilonidal Cystectomy-is done and Stitches are put to close the gap after cyst removal.
Don't carry any wrong information that anus hole suturing is done and butt crack no longer remains.
Butt Crack and the Anal opening is kept in tact.
So be assured of the right things done by Plastic surgeon.
I would suggest You to talk to your family doctor and attending Plastic Surgeon.
You may have Second Opinion- if you are ashamed to talk about the conception you had.
