Does Pneumonia Cause Heart Weakness?

My mother is having problem in breathing and also complain of having weakness , so we went for x ray of chest it looks like pneumonia, then after doc suggested to have echo it gives result that her heart is working at 20%. Her sugar, blood pressure, hemoglobin, colestrol is normal. Her age is 67 and she is having problem of thyroid. Also passed through two surgery of brain tumor and brain sist. What is chances of recovery. And cause of heart weekness. Is it due to pneumonia.

First of all Pneumonia doesn't cause Heart weakness unless it complicates into Sepsis . I think your mother's Heart weakness is there since long time and it has come to notice now .
The cause for Heart weakness are many -- like Diabetes , Hypertension , Cardiomyopathy , Ischemic heart disease etc.
The chances of recovery from Pneumonia depends on her present Condition and parameters like Oxygen Saturation on Room air , ABG reports , Total Leukocyte counts , Blood pressure . Kindly mention these parameters and I will be able to tell the chances of recovery . But in general Pneumonia if treated with Proper Antibiotics responds very well .
