Does Prostatomegaly Cause Polyuria?
hello sir, i am unmarried male 30 years of age from india, 2 years before my USG showed that i have grade 1 prostatomegaly, with dimensions 2.7x3.6x2.8cms, in AP/TS/Ss dia, having volume of 14ml, and weighing 09gms, these observations are 2 yrs before, dont know my present prostrate dimensions. now my problem is polyuria, i urinate a lot as compared with other guys of same age, this problem is more frequent when i go to sleep, before sleep i visit bathrooom 4-5 times, and same in morning. is this polyuria condition becoz of this prostrate problem, or something else. now i am extremely frustrated beczo of this problem, as it is irritating a lot and secondly i am shortly going to get married, will this problem have any effect on my marriage life, kindly help sir, waiting for ur kind reply.

Enlarged prostate may cause polyuria.However other cause like diabetes mellitus etc should be ruled out.
Your past findings suggests mildly enlarged prostate.You may need latest ultrasound of prostate.In your age,prostatitis(infection of prostate)may be the reason for enlarged prostate.
You may need proper clinical examination and investigations.
Investigation include routine hemogram,random blood sugar,urine RE/ME.
You may need PSA(prostate specific antigen)after evaluation.
Enlarged prostate is managed by both conservative and by surgery.
You may only need medicines and follow up.
Medicines like 5-alpha reductase inhibitors(finasteride) or alpha blockers may be prescribed in enlarged prostate.
It need evaluation by a urologist.
