Does Removal Of Sebaceous Cyst Surgery Cause Chronic Scalp Itchiness?
12 months ago i had a subaceous cyst removed from my scalp. since that time i have had an i utchy scalp, no dandruff ir any other visible symptoms , the itch is worse when i am hot, or use a hairdryer it is bearable other times Couldiul this be related to surgery i had a local anaesthetic. have used head and shoulders dandruff shampoo most of the year still itches .
No...not at all. The itching of scalp may be due to allergy. It may be prurigo of scalp. It may be related to mental upset also. It is not due to surgery of sebaceous cyst. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis. I would recommend you to take a short and tappering course of oral steroid under supervision of your doctor. You may take antihistaminics like Cetirizine daily till itchiness improves.
Hope this helps.
