Does Sever Pain Of Gluteal Muscles And Lump On Shin Need Immediate Medical Attention?

I strained my left glute last Saturday. I had no choice but to run around on it all week but now I can barely sit on it it is so swollen. I now notice a lump on my shin as well and don t remember hitting it. The doctor on Friday gave me naproxin but it is having no effect. I suspect compartment symdrom. Should I go to the ER? He told me to schedule a ultrasound for next week

compartment syndrome is usually accompanied by severe pain and mostly following an open injury. your physician is right in suggesting an ultrasound to close in on the diagnosis. i would suggest rest and avoid using staircase for sometime for your gluteal strain.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
