Does Shaving Near Vagina Cause Pimples In Pubic Area, Dry Clitoris And Skin Peeling?
Hi, I have a question about my vagina. I am a teenage girl and I shave (like majority girls do), but recently I ve gotten a lot of pimples where my pubic hair grows. Is this from shaving ? And also, my clitoris has become dry and the skin has started peeling. How can I fix this ?
It sounds like a combination of razor burn and an allergic or hypersensitivity reaction to whatever you are putting on your skin to shave (lotion, soap or cream).First off stop shaving and use over the counter mild cortisone cream or ointment once or twice a day for a week or two and let everything calms down. Ointment is stickier and thicker but covers better and stays put. Next always use a new clean razor blade every time. The follicles on the vulva are just not as tough as the legs and easily get inflamed. You have to use lots of something to decrease razor drag like shaving cream, preferably for hypersensitive skin. Avoid perfumes or anything with alcohol. Most soaps are too harsh or drying. I hope this helps. If the problem persists it will be time to see a dermatologist before you develop permanently damaged and scarred hair follicles (ouch).
