Does Slight Pain In Metacarpal With Light Pressure Indicate Fracture Or Bruise?

I am a tennis player and recently I slipped and I put my hand down to stop the fall and I believe my hand went all the way back and the majority of it was my thumb and I ddon't feel a lot of pain except for the metacarpal when I try to open up my hand or I put some sort of pressure involving my hands. Is it just a bruise or a fracture? Should I get an xray? Thank you.

welcome to Health care magic.
1.Yes, you need to get an x-ray done to rule out fracture, as some undisplaced fracture might cause similar pain.
2.It might be just bruise, but needs conformation, or else undisplaced hailing fracture could be there which will heal with malunion ( improperly aligned )
3.So visit ER and get an x-ray done.
4.Hope it helps you.

Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
