Hi, I was diagnosed with pharangits last week and have taken all my antibiotics that they gave me. My throat feels better the swelling of my lymph nodes has gone down, I have stopped smoking for almost two weeks now. My question is, since I m done with my antibiotics and my throat feels better, can i smoke weed now? Or will my throat swell up again?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pharyngitis and you took antibiotic course for that and symptoms resolve. You should not start smoke again as it will again cause precipitation of your symptoms and leads to tonsillitis and tonsillar lymph node swelling. I would suggest you to take all preventive measures such as do warm saline gargles on daily basis 3- 4 times a day. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Avoid oily, fried and spicy food substances. Take proper course of antibiotics, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory drugs. Use mist humidifier in room. Avoid smoking and cold beverages.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
