Does Spitting Phlegm With Blood Mean Bronchitis Or Pneumonia For Child Suffering From Asthma ?

My son (6 years old) spitted out a phlegm with a drop or 2 of red rust color in it. Does it suggest TB or bronchities or Pnuemonia. He has a a history of asthma .

History of productive cough, fever , breathing difficulties indicates Pneumonia.
History of productive cough for more than 2 months , with wieght loss indictes TB.
Acute bronchitis can cause cough ,fever, breathing difficulty.
History of asthma is an risk factor for Bronchitis and pneumonia.
So a detail clinical examination of chest with X-ray chest, a diagnosis can be made.
please consult a Paediatrician.

Since there is blood in phelgm it needs to be seen where it came from.Presently if he had cold but he is not having asthma;cough which is severe then this could be from the posterior part of nose & rust colour signifies it is clotted blood ;if it is just once no need for treatment .Just keep a watch if he further has cough or such a sign of blood in his sputum;phlegm .If there is blood then he will require to get investigated for the cause & then treatment accordingly.
