Does Swollen And Painful Knuckle Heal Itself Or Should A Doctor Be Consulted?

On 12/23 I hit my hand off a table. The next morning my top pinky knuckle was swollen and painful. As of now, I can bend it without much pain, but it is stiff, still very swollen, and painful when bumped. I think it may be broken. I was told by many that nothing is really done for a broken finger/knuckle other than a splint. However, I am concerned about the swelling not subsiding. Should I spend the money on seeing a doctor or does it sound like it will heal on its own?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears that you have a fracture, or a soft tissue injury, to know what it is , you should have an X ray, if there is a fracture, should be given a splint, other wise the swelling wont go down.
If no fracture, it needs to have antibiotic and anti inflamatories, for reduction of swelling and pain.
So i advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for treatment.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and
protein rich foods to hasten the recovery.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
