Does Taking Alamine During Pregnancy Harm The Foetus?

Hi, I am 35.4 weeks pregnant. My last USG shown lack of Abdominal growth (AC) of my baby. It shows that AC is at 31 weeks at my 35.4 weeks of gestation. My gynae has recommended alamine drip (3 days) and she says that it may help but isn t sure whether it will definitely help. So wanted your opinion whether there is any side effects of this treatment to me or my baby

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Using Alamine drip is not seen much now a days as it is not showing up much effects, instead steroid injections can be given this should be under the monitor of your gynecologist. If your amniotic fluid is also low you can also take good amount of water this may also help the baby. Side effects like allergic reaction and drowsiness etc may show up but are rare.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
