Does Taking Celecoxib And Omeprazole Together Cause Bladder Pressure And Abdominal Pain?

I am a 62 year old male. last week my doctor prescribed celecoxib 200mg for knee and joint pain. I noticed a difference within two days. My pain was diminished by at least 80%. Starting Monday, after taking the medication with an omeprazole pill for 5 days I starting getting abdominal pain and as of today I can urinate, but within 15 minutes I feel as if my bladder is ready to be emptied again. And I do. Not a lot of urine, but some. It feels like the pressure one feels with a full bladder. I have also felt as if I might have a fever the last couple of days. I took my temp about 30 minutes ago and it is 101.3. I did not take the medication today. I called my physician earlier today but have not heard back from him. Do you think that the medication could be responsible for what is going on with me right now?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Celecoxib can cause gastric upset and pain ,(that is less likely if taken with Omerpazole) but what u explained here do not look to be because of the drug, it more sound like you have got a urinary tract infection that can explain the pain, the fever and the frequent urination. so i would advise you get a urine tested for infection, if any evidence then you should use some antibiotics ,its always better to take antibiotics with advice of your doctor.
