Hello,
i can understand your concern. Finasteride is prescribed for male pattern baldness. oral finasteride does cause a decreased libido and erectile dysfunction in few number of cases. Topical application doesnt have as many side effects as oral ones.hence you can leave your worry aside. apply the lotion as advised by your doctor.
Along with the lotion, take adequate amounts of protein in diet. a supplement containing biotin, zinc and other vitamins can also be taken.
Wash your hair with a mild shampoo. See that you donot have any dandruff as this can also lead to hair loss.
hope i have answered your query. Have a nice day
