Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My neurologist prescribed Flexeril for me Ali g with physical therapy for tension headaches and related neck pain. I also take Acebutol for PVC’s, of which both he and the pharmacist are aware. BAsed on some of the comments I’ve read online, am I exacerbating the arrhythmia by taking Flexeril? I have confidence in my neurologist but the comments from others was a bit alarming. Thank you.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Flexryl is a brand name of Cycobenzaprine. It is a commonly prescribed drug and a relatively safer one. Arehythmia is a rare complication and it is seen in over dose and seen in people deliberately taking twenty or more tablets together. Otherwise it is a safe drugs and you can continue it with out any concerns.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
