Does Taking Provera Cause Blood Smell In Urine And Shrink The Breast ?

hi im kris a 32 yr old female , I have been taking the medicine provera 10 mg for 2 months now. my questions are as follows? 1) can taking this medication cause me to have a blood smell in my urine and i'm not even on my period? 2) can taking this medication cause me to feel like my breasts are shrinking in size ? 3) will my period completely stop or is this medication something to help regulate my cycle ? and 4) is it ok to feel completely full and feel like im loosing weight ?

Hello,

1) No, provera doesn't cause blood smell in urine. It may be due to urinary tract infection with hematuria. One urine test- routine & culture is required to rule out the exact cause. You may require antibiotic treatment.

2) Provera usually doesn't cause breast shrinking but it may regress breast growth if used them for long term.

3) With above medicine, you will get regular monthly period. It doesn't stop your period.

4) Yes, Provera (progesterone) is associated with weight loss to some extent.
