Does Tasting Or Inhaling Comet Cleansers Or Ajax Cleansers Affects Pregnancy?
I have a question I am 9 months pregnant and having been tasting both Comet and Ajax cleanser since I was 7 years old. I have done this with both of my pregnancies and I taste the cleansers and then rinse my mouth profusely with water. What damage can I be causing to myself and unborn child. I have two healthy kids that I had the same issue with, but the last 2 pregnancies seem to be the worst. Any suggestions.
Pregnancy is associated with different and sometimes unusual habits for pregnant women. As per in your case, you use to taste such cleansers and then, wash your mouth. This is strangely normal for a pregnant women.
As long as you do not swallow the cleansers, but only put in mouth and then immediately wash your mouth thoroughly; there is no risk for the baby.
It is true that such cleansers do have harmful chemicals for the baby. But you are not swallowing, nothing is entering inside your body; only a bit of taste and inhaling for a while.
Once again, try to avoid repeating too much such habit although you can't resist. You are at the end of your pregnancy and hopefully you'll have a healthy baby.
Good luck! God bless for both of you! Dr.Albana
