Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have had back surgery two years ago on my L4 and L5. My recent MRI results show that i have a 7mm hyperintense intraspinal synovial cystthat encroaches on the right lateral recess of L5. therefore their could could be compression of the L5 nerve root. The cyst does not significantly compres on the thecal sac.
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your MRI shows that there is a cyst inside of spinal canal which is going towards lateral recess of L5 vertebra from spinal cord so it could be causing compression of L 5 nerve root. The cyst does not causing compression of covering of spinal cord. It means that spinal cord and its covering are not compressed, but L5 nerve root is compressed. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
