Does The TSH Levels Affect The Normal Growth Of The Baby?

Hi, My wife is preganant, she has started 7 months and in her routine blood check doctors found thyroid and for that she has gone through some blood test now doctor ask her to conduct T4 test.



I am worring that does it's effect baby growth, is it create any complication while delivery

Hi thanks for your question,if low free T4 it will be diagnosed as hypothyroidism and she should take tretment unless it causes stillbirths.
If it will be hyperthyroidism ,high levels of TSH in the mother can affect the baby's thyroid and cause hyperthyroidism in the baby. By taking anti-thyroid medication, you can avoid the effect on your baby.
