My nine years old son has a fracture in his leg above the ankle and it has been casted for two months the fracture is healed yet the doctor said he needs an extra week so it wont hurt after the cast is removed .Question is will this effect the mucsles temperarly or permintly please i need answer to that and howmuch time will my soon need to be carefull till he's completely healed
Fracture might be uniting if callus can be seen. Consult your doctor for confirming callus and union.
2 months is sufficient time for healing of fracture in children.
Consulting your doctor cast should be removed and physiotherapy should be started. You can apply crepe bandage for support. Muscles will regain power after doing exercises, but need to be done early now.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
