Does The Malic Acid Supplement With Magnesium Causes Sleepiness And Tiredness?
I have Fibro and am considering adding Malic Acid with Magnesium. The dosage on the bottle I purchased today is 3 capsules every morning. Each capsule contains Thiamine (B1) 12mg, B-6 18mg, magnesium 400mg, Malic Acid 1.2g, and a special herb blend that contains St. Johns Wort, Chamomile, and other herbs, etc. I already am so tired and have no energy, will this supplement make me sleepier since it has the St. Johns and Cham? I know these 2 are things always seen in sleep aids and I definetly don t want to be any more tired - looking for just the opposite.
Magnesium, St. Johns, and Chamomile are used as sleeping aids. The quality control of supplements is very poor. This is worse the more expensive and hard to prepare the supplement is. (Tiger gall bladder is very bad; magnesium is likely fairly reliable). Then, there is not much quality literature on how effective these supplements are. Benadryl is an FDA supervised sleeping medicine.
