Does Thyroid Cancer Have Anything To Do With Twitching Of The Year?
Hi, my right eye has been twitching for the past three days non stop, it feels like my pulse is in my eye, it doesnt hurt but is very irritating. I have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer recently, i have a large nodule covering 95% of the left lobe and a smaller one on the right. My question is are the two linked in any way, could the nodule be pressing against a nerve that could be affecting my eye?
Hello Twitching of the eye lids is because of irritation of the facial nerve usually in the ear as it travels down through it. Hence thyroid cancer is usually not related to twitching as the facial nerve does not traverse there. Hence if the twitching is persistent and continuous then you need to get examined to rule out the causes for facial nerve irritation.
Thank you
