Does Ulcer Cause Severe Vomiting And Bleeding?

The reason I answered because you made it seem like it was free to ask you would have saved my time and yours since I can t afford you. 15 or more is too much for the question I asked THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME AND YOURS! about 4 am on an empty stomach I felt nauseous. It kept going away then finally I threw up. I did this 3 times.from 4am-230pm the 3rd time I threw up 3 times and threw up blood. Yesterday my doctor scheduled me for a test because he suspects I have an ulcer. Haven t had test yet. I don t want to go to emergency. But I am concerned about the bleeding. Thinking of urgent care clinic. Do you think it may be an ulcer causing this?

Welcome to health care magic,

vomiting with bleeding and if there is abdominal pain or bloating could have many causes which are acute gastritis,gastric ulcer but it is very difficult to say from clinical point of view.It must be evaluated further by clinical examination and some relevant tests.

So,you should undergo routine blood investigations and H.pylori,liver function tests,urinalysis and stool for blood,abdominal ultrasound and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy to detect the underlying cause.

Treatment is mainly depend on the cause but she may take symptomatic treatment meanwhile.

Antacids like h2 blockers (ranitidine) or proton pump inhibitors (pantoprazole or rabeprazole) will help to reduce excess acid production in stomach.

One can also take digene gel or liquid or ulcero-protective agents like sucralfate or bismuth subsallicylate to reduce the burning sensation.

Consult gastroenterologist for detailed medical history and clinical examination to diagnose the cause.
