Does Vitamin D Deficiency Cause Weakness In Child?

Dear dr.my son is turning 4 this November. Still not schooling and we stay in qatar where we dont get chance yo go out as temperature is very high.most of my friends children god vitamin d as they dont get vitamin D.but I never given my child aby vitamin. Now a days he complain if weakness and hw say he s tierd.im worried feeling coz he never had vitamin D .is anything you whould tell me dr

Pediatrician,  's  Response
start 400 IU of vit D daily doses and get tested for Vit D in blood( 25 OH D3). if blood levels are low may need extra dose to compensate deficiency.
Also as a blood sample is being taken get simultaneous Haemogram( CBC) and Thyroid checkup done( Free T4 7 TSH).
Grt the child reviewed with reports.
