Does Vomiting And Diarrhea Cause Abnormal SGPT Test Results?

My ALT (SGPT) test came back 51 after having had a couple days of vomiting and diarrhea that appeared to be from a contagious pathogen. My husband got it a couple of days later. Could the vomiting and diarrhea cause the higher than normal enzyme result?

Hi. The vomiting and diarrhea are not known to increase SGPT levels. In fact it may suggest concomitant liver infection due to gastro problem you got.
