General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, I understand your concern. Megace contains chemical compound similar to female hormone Progesteron. It is known to cause irregular/unusual periods. This lasts for 2-3 months after starting the medicine.-- subsides after that. This may follow absent periods. Now as you have stopped the pills,to control the unusual bleeding, it is better to wait & watch, as the effect of drugs weans off from blood, the bleeding will stop. Thanks.
