Does Weight Gain Medication Megace Cause Prolonged Period?

ok here goes i have other issues but the one im getting worried about is i was give megace to help me gain some weight. i stated to take it on the 2nd of this month. it made me start my period 5 days early. i took it every day like i was told but after being on my period for 12 day which is very abnormal for me cause mine normally only last 4 days. i called the doctor and he said if it was bothing me that much then go off it so i did. now every time i go to the bathroom im wiping pink and this is been going on 5 days now. is there something wrong should i go see someone about it?

I understand your concern.
Megace contains chemical compound similar to female hormone Progesteron. It is known to cause irregular/unusual periods.This lasts for 2-3 months after starting the medicine.-- subsides after that. This may follow absent periods.
Now as you have stopped the pills,to control the unusual bleeding, it is better to wait & watch, as the effect of drugs weans off from blood, the bleeding will stop.
