Greenish Grey, Form and consistency- Semi-digested, Reaction-Acidic, Charcot-Leyden Crystals-Nil, PUS CELLS- 0-3/hpf, R.B.C,Macrophages, Protozoal Parasites, Helminitic Ova are all shown as NIL please advice
Hi,
the stool examination is normal.
But why greenish grey colour??!!
Depends on what milk he is on and what are his problems.
We have to correlate to clinical condition.
Good luck
hello bhawna,
did you get this test done for loose stools? if yes then there may be some element of lactose intolerance secondary to a diarrheal episode. but this test is not conclusive at all.
the greenish gray coloured stool suggests rapid transit time through the intestine as the colour of stool changes from green to yellow to slightly brownish finally on its transit through intestine, and in this case the rapid bowel movement could have caused this, but this can be an occasionally normal finding in a early infancy.
pH is acidic but it has not mentioned the ph, it may be secondary to some lactose intolerance.
rest other parameters are normal.
at this time best would be to continue breast feeding and according to me its not an indication to shift to lactose free formula, unless the proper history and repeat stool examinations with pH are not available. in any short diarrheal disease this kind of report can be found.
rest you should consult your pediatrician for further evaluation
hope i ve answered your query
regards
Dr. Amit Kumar
