Done Surgery For Pilonidal Cyst. Have Lump, Draining Wound. Feeling Pressure When Sitting. Normal?

I had surgery for a pilonidal cyst 10 days ago, the wound was left open to drain and heal from the inside out, the would has been draining everyday, but I have a lump a little smaller than a egg, which is extremely sensitive to any pressure. I have been unable to, sit, drive, work, even standing puts pressure on it. Is this normal, I think something may have been missed.

Hello,

Thanks for writing in.
As you are recovering from pilonidal cyst surgery, there will be little discomfort in the wound as you have explained.
Such problems are normal and anticipatied in your situation.
The wound is in its healing process and will take a few days for granulation tissue to form. The sensitivity will disappear once primary healing in the wound is over.

Please avoid applying pressure on wound area and try to keep it dry and clean.

Hope this helps.
