Done Vaginal Hysterectomy With Cystocele Repair. Pain In Perineum. How Should It Be Treated?

I had a vaginal hysterectomy on Sept 20, 2013, with cystocele repair. From the beginning, I have been telling the surgeon I feel a sharp pain in my perineum, which makes no sense because she tells me nothing was done in that area. This is debilitating pain - I cannot walk through it, and it is severely impeding my ability to return to work. I no longer feel pain in the surgical area (where the uterus was, nor the bladder lift done without mesh). The sharp perineum pain worsens when standing, and steadily worsens the farther I walk. I cannot even walk a quarter mile without calling someone to drive me home! What is wrong with me? How should this be treated?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. In my opinion you are having internal hemorrhoids based on your symptoms. It can be only ruled out by rectal examination by your doctor. For now you can have sitz bath will will help you and relieve your pain. As your doctor said there will be nothing to do in perineal area during your surgery but may be due to prolonged position there is a strain. Thank you.
