Dull Pain, Discomfort Around Belly Button While Sitting, Normal Blood Test And Ct Scan Of Abdominal Area. Cause?
For about a month and a half I have had a dull pain more like discomfort in the area just to the right of my belly button and down about an inch or two and at times feels as if it moves to my right along my beltline. I have had a blood test and Ct scan of my abdominal area all coming back normal. Pain is generally when I am sitting. Standing and moving I have almost zero discomfort.Do you have any ideas
Since CT scan is normal the commonest causes like Appendicitis and Diverticulitis are ruled out for now at least. There can be muscular or neurogenic cause like inflamed muscle or a pinched nerve. Another possibility is of a hernia that the CT scan can miss and blood tests are usually normal in such cases. Hence I would advise you the following: Consult a General Surgeon for a proper in depth clinical examination and correlation with report. Review high resolution ultrasonography of abdominal wall can help further. The treatment will obviously be as per the cause thus found.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
