Ear Popping, Painful, Muffled Hearing. Will It Get Better On Its Own?
Hi, my ear has been popping for the last month and is painful at times, especially if I get it wet. I feel as though my hearing is also distorted and muffled at times. I am in my thirties but had lots of operations as a child, gromits, t tubes and a graft on my ear drum. Will it get better on its own, or is it the result of having 2 colds in the last month?

You describe a very common problem. I do believe that the two colds you've had over the last month can be contributing factors. However, a month of distorted and muffled hearing is a long time. I wouldn't necessarily call it an emergency, but it should be examined by your doctor. You shouldn't have persistent muffeld hearing.
