Even After Two Hours Of Taking Injection In Knee For Chondromalacia Patella The Pain Has Doubled

I saw a orthopedic surgeon today who did X-rays and diagnose me severe pain in both knees to be chondromalacia patella, he gave me an injection in left knee it's been two hours since it was injected and the pain has doubled!! I can't remember what the injection was called! Do I need to try to wait it out or should I call an tell him?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.

Your orthopaedic surgeon has most probably given you Depomedrol injection in the knee .

It is usually mixed with dome lignocaine and injected and should cause immediate pain relief rather than increasing the pain.

I think you should call up your doctor immediately.
Apply ice packs to the knee
Do not try to walk much
Take a proper painkiller.
Start an antibiotic prescribed by the doc.

I hope my advice has helped
Good luck
