Excessive Belching, Flatulence, Vomiting Bile And Chest Pain. Had Gall Bladder Removed. What Is It?
Hello ... I suffer from excessive belching , flatulence and vomitting bile . Also have chest pain (related to these symptoms) and sometimes weird colored (clay like) stool, which is always loose. Have had my gallbladder removed but symptoms contine, confirming my suspicion that it wasn t my gallbladder all along. I have had a stomach ulcer in the past which subsequently healed. That was 2 years ago. By far, the worst shmptom is vomitting acid daily. have taken nexium in the past and it did not help. Recently had a partial nephrectomy for rcc but my surgeon remains confident it is unrelated to my recent surgery. Any thoughts? Thx, Claudia
It is very common that gallstones does not give any symptoms and removing gallbladder does not bring relief. This is because peptic ulcers very often likes to pretend gallstones pains. Moreover, if you have had peptic ulcers recently, another upper GI endoscopy should be performed before any surgery. Gallbladder removal could also make your stomach worse due to surgical stress.
That is why, your symptoms are most likely caused by peptic ulcers. It is advisable for you to have upper GI endoscopy performed.
In some cases after gallbladder removal some stones can be left in the bile ducts and cause such symptoms. That is why you should also have abdominal ultrasound performed as well as liver tests (AST,ALT,GGTP), bilirubin, amylase.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
