Excessive Gas Problems Followed By Loose Motions. How To Treat It?

Hello Doctor,
I just realized that it's been a little over a month that I have been experiencing, 2-3 day periods of loose motion. Though I don't remember if it was accompanied with excessive gas problems but it is now and I can't even sleep. It feels like gas which I am about to release but instead I end up releasing the stool, which is semi-liquid. Please advise a treatment.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Excessive flatus(gas) and loose motions can be seen in acute gastritis and also in an intestinal infection called giardiasis. I suggest Tab Rantac 150 mg before food twice a day for two days. Drink lots of water. take fluid diet. If it does not reduce then get a stool test done to rule out giardiasis. Appropriate treatment can be taken from your treating doctor after stool test results. Thanks.
