Experiencing Burning Sensation Between Lower Ribs And Upper Stomach And Heartburn
I have been trying to get help with bad heartburn for years I went for an endoscopy and she found nothing. I woke up to a prescription for Tecta to take for life, I have pain right now burning sensation between the lower ribs upper stomach. I suspect the stomach valve ( I don't know the name of it)
Your symptoms are most likely caused by acid reflux (GERD). This condition is caused by stomach acid reflux to the esophagus. This gives upper middle abdominal pain, chest burning. You may also have cough as this condition very often is associated by asthma. GERD treatment should be started with diet. You should avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, alcohol, coffee, fruit juices, chocolate. If the diet wont help, PPI (proton pump inhibitors) should be started like Omeprasole 20 mg. If also this wont help, surgery (fundoplication) should be considered.
Hope this will help. Regards.
